Blue Clover adds splash to River Authority events

San Antonio, TX – Based on Blue Clover’s past success in creating attention-grabbing special events with a “wow” factor for the Mission Reach project, the San Antonio River Authority (SARA) has again hired Blue Clover to plan, coordinate and implement a large scale special event for the Mission Reach portion of the San Antonio River Improvements Project (SARIP), including PR and design of invitations, email blasts and promotional items.

In October 2007, SARA and Blue Clover introduced the Mission Reach project to more than 200 business and community leaders in attendance. Speaking guests included U.S. Congressman Ciro Rodriguez, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, Mayor Phil Hardberger, Bexar County Commissioners Chico Rodriguez, Paul Elizondo and Tommy Atkisson, Assistant Secretary of the Army for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, as well as representatives from each participating agency. Every TV news station in the city, as well as both talk radio stations and the San Antonio Express-News attended and covered the event.

In March 2008, Blue Clover assisted SARA with another event with U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and U.S. Congressman Ciro D. Rodriguez, and top-ranking officials from the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and SARA, gathering on the banks of the San Antonio River next to the scenic Espada Dam to thank the Federal delegation, for their integral role in supporting the Mission Reach portion with $9.8 million in funds.

On June 2, SARA officially broke ground on Phase I of the Mission Reach at Roosevelt Park, announcing the contractor selected to construct the project.

“The San Antonio River Authority has turned to Blue Clover for assistance with a number of high profile events, and each time, Blue Clover’s delivery of services has been exceptional. Blue Clover’s creative staff has developed both print and electronic event invitations that captured the history and beauty of the San Antonio River. The personal, hands-on service we received in the event planning as well as at the actual event was second to none. For anyone planning a high-profile event where attention to detail is critical, I would highly recommend Blue Clover,” said Steven Schauer, manager of External Communications at SARA, which plans, manages and implements water-related programs and projects within the San Antonio River Basin. It also preserves, protects and manages the resources and the ecology of the San Antonio River and its tributaries in Bexar, Goliad, Karnes and Wilson counties.

“Blue Clover is honored to help an agency like SARA, one that is central to the survival of our community’s vital water sources,” said José B. Sena, president, CEO and founding partner, Blue Clover. “We are proud to be a part of such historic events like Mission Reach and help shed light on the future of our city’s eco-system.” The Mission Reach will reintroduce native vegetation, create an environment more suitable for wildlife, add eight miles of trails and recreational amenities and reconnect the historic San Antonio Missions to the river.
